Come August, Jack’s Café will be expanding to include a broader range of family style, true NOLA cuisine with the opening of Nan’s New Orleans Café. That means poboys, shrimp and grits, and red beans and rice. For right now, though, we are proud to continue bringing you healthy offerings each week with NIMs from Jack’s Café.

You guys might be wondering exactly what NIMs are. It’s kind of a funny name, I get that. NIM stands for Nan’s Impact Meals, so named because of the IMPACT each meal has the potential to bring. NIMs are fresh, healthy meals freshly made with high-protein, low-carb, and (often) gluten-free ingredients. They’re prepared especially for you, direct-to-order, and ready for pick-up at the beginning of each work week so you can relax in the knowledge that you don’t have to Lean-Cuisine-it, run the fast food line, or eat yet another salad for lunch or dinner.

We built our reputation at Jack’s Café around providing fresh, healthy menus for our hospital staff members and patients’ families. The more we provided, the greater the demand grew for increased gluten-free, low-carb, and high-protein options. This was the push for our decision to test the waters with the healthy weekly menus that we now call Nan's Impact Meals.

Since this time, they’ve proven instrumental in helping many people achieve their health and fitness goals. Rachel, one of our first customers, has lost an amazing 90 pounds. Bruce, a marathoner, is excited about the program because it provides an easy way to help him meet his dietary requirements as he currently trains for a half-marathon.

And that’s the beauty of NIMs…it really doesn’t matter who you are, or what your goals are. Whether you are trying like mad to lose a few pounds (and who isn’t? We have bathing suits to wear people. Let’s be kind to one another…), a Crossfit regular, or you just want some good food that you don’t have to cook, our focus is on preparing great quality food fresh, just for you. So give us a call. We’d love to feed you.

We are so excited about the opening of Nan’s New Orleans Café and Poboy later this summer. As we work do complete the restaurant to absolute perfection, we wanted to thank everyone who is already supporting this new adventure. With over 25 years experience in the food service arena, we are bringing our knowledge and passion to Mandeville.

Jack’s Café and Catering was our first venture into our own food service and catering company. We have been so fortunate to be able to make so many special parties, weddings, and events even better with our delicious food. The loyal customer base that we have been blessed with at Jack’s is what has given us the expansion with our sister restaurant, Nan’s.

Our vision for Nan’s New Orleans Café and Poboy was to be able to turn back the clock and build upon the foundation of good ole New Orleans lifestyle cooking. If you are from the area then you understand that cooking is not just cooking. It is an event. Drawing on that same feel good memory of Sundays are for all day family lunches that lasted into dinner, we want to create that same feeling. Southern food represents the heart and soul of pulling families together and that is our goal with Nan’s.

While our full menu will be on our website closer to opening day, we can tell you that we will be delivering our own embellishments on favorite Creole dishes that everyone enjoys. We will be serving a variety of choices so that everyone will be sure to find something to love. We pride ourselves on making all our meals from scratch. We will even hand craft our salad dressings and we know they will be a hit. Local produce and sea food will be a constant on our menu. We believe in supporting local growers and fisherman.

We want to make a lunch or dinner at Nan’s New Orleans Café and Poboy a part of your family tradition for casual meals together, or for special occasions. We make cooking a lifestyle, and want you to become part of our life with your family. Each item on our menu will be something that means something special to us that we want to share with our customers.

Again, many thanks for all the support and enthusiasm. We are blessed as members of the North Shore community here in Mandeville to share our passion for family dining with each of you. Lovingly referred to as “makin’ groceries” we cannot wait to make groceries for your family.
